Best out of waste

The beauty of traditional Indian textiles is unmatched and so is their life.

Recently I got a chance to work for a friend, who gave me bags full of ancient banarsi sarees, blouses and kurtas alongwith zari, zardozi embroidery pieces and gota patti work. It was indeed fascinating and challenging to use them to the best and make them into neat and classy wall hangings.

They are on their finishing stage now, the compilations have been done, just awaiting the final pieces with frames to arrive.

Photos coming up soon...

Here it goes..

The first one- a combinations of golden zari brocade borders on a brocade base. Silk with gota patti in the center
The second one- a combination of woven silk borders on a silk tissue base. Silk brocade pieces in the center
Under-process
The third one- a combination of shimmery silk borders on a cotton-silk base. Silk brocade pieces in the center, center-most piece with zardosi work
